How we work
Affiliate Disclosure
A few links on this site earn us a commission. This page says which, why it never changes what we recommend, and why there are none at all on the pages young people read.

What a paid link is
Some pages on this site link to tools and services we think are worth using. On a few of those links, if you sign up or buy, the company pays Launch League a commission. Those links are marked "paid link" right where they appear, so you never have to come to this page to find out.
It costs you nothing extra. The price you pay is the same as it would be if you had typed the company's address into your browser yourself.
Most links on this site are not paid links. Government programs, funding bodies, free tools and other organizations are linked because they are the right answer, and nobody pays us for any of them.
Never on pages written for young people
There are no paid links anywhere in the youth program. Not on the ways-to-make-money guides, not in Business 101, not in the Launch Sprint, the workbook, the competition pages, the school and educator material, or anything a student sees while taking part.
That rule is enforced in the site's code rather than left to memory: paid links are blocked on every route by default, and a page has to be deliberately added to a short list of adult-facing guides before it can carry one. A new page is safe without anyone having to remember this policy exists.
Part of this is the law — Quebec's Consumer Protection Act bans commercial advertising directed at children under 13 outright. Most of it is simpler than that. We tell 13-year-olds that they can start with nothing and that they should never spend money on a business before a customer has said yes. We are not going to say that on a page that earns us money when they buy something.
What it does not change
A commission never buys a recommendation, a ranking, or a place on a list. No company can pay to be included here, and none of them see a guide before it is published.
Where a free option exists, it is linked just as prominently as the paid one, and usually first. If the honest answer to a question is that you do not need to buy anything, that is what the page says.
If we would not recommend a tool to someone sitting across a table from us, it is not on the site — whether or not it has an affiliate program.
Where the rest of the money comes from
Launch League is a for-profit, mission-driven company. Revenue comes from award sponsorships, which fund prizes; program partnerships and contributions, which fund delivery; optional paid tools; and paid programs for adults through Launch League Academy.
Affiliate commissions are a small part of that, and they are deliberately confined to the guides adults read when they are choosing tools for their own business. Nothing in the competition, and nothing a student does, depends on buying anything from anyone.

Think we got a link wrong?
