How to read it
Four things the numbers do not say
Job Bank rates each job from one to five stars for 2025 to 2027. It compares the openings it expects (retirements, growth) with the people it expects to be looking. A low rating means more competition for each opening. It does not mean a bad job, and it does not mean no one is hiring.
Median pay is the point where half of Ontario workers in the job earn more and half earn less. Where you live, who you work for and how long you have been at it all move it. Jobs Job Bank only reports by the year are shown by the year, not converted.
It comes from the education level built into every job's national code (its TEER level). It is what people are typically hired with. Plenty of people get in other ways, and plenty of employers ask for more.
It is the share of people working in the job who are women, per Job Bank. It tells you who does the work now. It is not a rule about who can, and a low number is as often a reason to be the person who changes it as a reason to avoid the job.
All figures are Job Bank's published Ontario numbers: outlooks for 2025 to 2027, wages for the reference period on each job's own page. We read them on 5 October 2026 and re-read them on a schedule. The source is Job Bank, Employment and Social Development Canada, using Statistics Canada data. Not every job has a wage figure. Found a mistake? Tell us.
