Terms of Use

Launch League is an entrepreneurship education program based in Ontario, Canada. Our lessons, competitions and tools, including the Business Dashboard, exist to help young people learn how businesses work by building one. By using launchleague.ca you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the site.

• Give accurate information, including your real birth month and year and country, because they decide which consent rules apply.
• Keep your password private. Tell us at admin@launchleague.ca if you think someone else is using your account.
• One person per account. Don't create an account for someone else, except that a parent or guardian may create their own account to manage a young person's.

• Participants under 18 need a parent or guardian's consent before the Business Dashboard opens. This is Launch League's program policy.
• Competitions have their own age and consent rules (entrants from age 12); see the Competition Rules.
• The Business Dashboard isn't currently available to children under 13 who live in the United States.

A parent or guardian who gives consent confirms they are the participant's parent or legal guardian and accepts these terms on the participant's behalf. Running a real business, even a small one, can involve money, customers, safety and local rules. Parents and guardians are responsible for supervising a young person's business activities in a way that suits their age. Launch League doesn't supervise participants' businesses.

• Use Launch League for learning and for lawful business activity.
• Be respectful to other participants, judges, mentors and staff.
• Only enter information about other people (like a customer's name) when you have a legitimate reason, and never their contact details, financial or health information.

• The Business Dashboard is a free, educational tool for organizing a small business's numbers: sales, expenses, profit, potential customers, goals and pricing.
• It is not accounting, bookkeeping, payroll, tax-filing or banking software, and it doesn't connect to bank accounts or process payments.
• Calculations depend on what you enter. Check your numbers before relying on them.
• You can export your records at any time. Keep your own copies of anything important, such as receipts.

You're responsible for the accuracy of the information you enter and for having the right to enter it. How we handle it is explained in the Privacy Policy. Business numbers are private by default and are never published without your permission (and a parent or guardian's, if you're under 18).

Launch League helps you understand and organize your business numbers. It is an educational business-management tool and is not a replacement for professional accounting, tax or legal advice.

• No accounting advice. Reports like “Where your money went” are educational summaries, not financial statements prepared or reviewed by an accountant.
• No tax advice. Features like “Taxes / set aside” are planning exercises. Tax rules depend on your situation; ask a qualified professional.
• No legal advice. Lessons about registering a business, licences or insurance are general information. Check the current rules for your situation.

Business involves risk. Launch League doesn't promise that any business will make money, win a competition, get funding, or succeed. Volunteer judging, advisor connections and coaching are offered on a best-effort basis, subject to availability.

The Launch League name, logo, website design, lesson content and software belong to Launch Leagueor its licensors. You may use lessons and printable worksheets for personal and classroom learning. Please don't copy or republish them commercially without permission.

Launch League does not claim ownership of anything you create or enter, including:

• your business ideas and business names;
• business plans, pitches and pitch decks;
• sales, expense and pricing information;
• customer and lead lists;
• any other intellectual property you create.

So we can run the service, you give Launch League a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free permission to store, copy, process and display your content only as needed to provide the features you use: for example, saving your records, calculating your numbers, showing them to you and a linked parent or guardian, sending a competition entry to its assigned judges, or creating the exports you ask for.

This permission ends when your content is deleted, except for copies we must keep for legal reasons or that remain for a limited time in backups. Any other use, such as featuring your business or story publicly, needs your separate permission (and a parent or guardian's, if you're under 18).

• Selling or promoting anything illegal, unsafe, age-restricted, or that harms others.
• Harassment, hate, threats, or sharing someone else's private information.
• Trying to get into another person's account or data, or to get around security, consent or age rules.
• Scraping, overloading or disrupting the site, or uploading malicious code.
• Submitting false information, including a false birth date or pretending to be a parent or guardian.

• Listings are optional, reviewed by Launch League before they appear, and must follow the Founder Marketplace rules, which form part of these terms.
• Launch League doesn't sell, take payment for, deliver or guarantee anything listed. Every purchase is between the buyer and the founder.
• We can decline, hide or remove a listing at any time, including to keep someone safe.
• Buyers must not use a listing to contact a founder for anything other than the business, or to ask for personal details or meetings in private.

• Judges, advisors, mentors and School Champions are volunteers. Launch League reviews applications and may decline or end anyone's involvement.
• Volunteers agree to the code of conduct shown when they apply: keep entries and participant information confidential, declare conflicts of interest, judge only against the published rubric, and never ask participants for money, equity or personal contact details.
• Contact with participants under 18 happens only through Launch League or in supervised or public settings. Volunteers must not arrange private one-to-one meetings or private messaging with a participant under 18.
• Sponsorship, Business Network membership or any other payment to Launch League never affects judging or advisor matching.

• Launch Kit offers come from outside providers. Listing an offer isn't an endorsement, and the provider's own terms apply once you use it.
• Providers agree to honour offers as listed until they expire, not to require payment details just to see an offer, and not to add participants to marketing lists without the participant's own opt-in (and a parent or guardian's, if under 18).
• Launch League can remove an offer at any time. Participants under 18 should check with a parent or guardian before signing up for anything.

We may pause or close an account that breaks these terms, puts someone at risk, or is the subject of a valid consent withdrawal. Where it's safe and appropriate, we'll tell you why and how to download your records. You can close your account at any time from Account & Privacy.

Some features rely on other services (for example Stripe for payments, and video services you choose for competition videos). Their terms and privacy policies apply to your use of them. We're not responsible for third-party websites we link to.

We work to keep Launch League accurate and available, but the site is provided “as is”. To the extent permitted by law, Launch Leagueisn't liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for business decisions made using the site's tools or lessons. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer protection or other laws that can't be limited.

• The Business Dashboard, Business 101, the Launch Sprint and competition entry are free.
• The optional Elite Business Plan Maker is a one-time purchase, is never required to enter a competition and gives no advantage in judging. Its text is generated with AI based on your answers and can contain mistakes; review everything before relying on it. Refund requests within 14 days of purchase are reviewed case by case at admin@launchleague.ca.
• Launch League Business Networkis a separate program for adults 18 and over. Memberships are sold and billed through Skool, in US dollars, at the price shown before you join, and can be cancelled any time in your Skool account. Skool's own terms also apply to your use of the community.
• Launch Leagueis a for-profit business, not a registered charity. Memberships, sponsorships and contributions aren't donations and don't come with a tax receipt. General contributions fund program delivery; only a named award sponsorship funds that award's prize.

Launch League also sells some services, to parents, business owners and organizations, separately from the free student program. Each is described, with its price, on its own page, and what follows applies on top of that page. Prices are in Canadian dollars plus HST unless the page says otherwise. Each guarantee below is shown here in exactly the words used on the page where it is offered.

• Future Ready Sprint (Career Launch). Three monthly payments of $450 — $1,350 in total, $55 more than paying once.
  The two-session guarantee. Do the first two sessions. If you don't think it's worth it, tell me and you get the whole fee back. No form, no argument.
  The Career Clarity Guarantee. If your teenager comes to all six sessions and does the between-session tasks, and doesn't finish with a written plan and at least two conversations with people doing the work, I coach them for up to four more weekly sessions, free, to get there.
• Operator Council. Joined and billed on Skool, as set out above.
  The 90-day guarantee. In your first session we write down the one outcome you want in 90 days, in your words. If you do the work and have not reached it at day 90, I keep coaching you free for up to 90 more days to get there. A good starting point is: at least five responsibilities permanently off your plate. It guarantees my time, not your revenue: nobody can promise a result that depends on your market, your team and your decisions.
• Local Business Growth (websites, search and follow-up).
  You approve it, or it does not launch. Nothing goes live until you have seen it working and said yes. If the setup we agreed on is not live within 30 days after your deposit and after we have everything we need from you (your materials and your approvals), and the delay is ours, I keep working on it for up to 30 more days at no extra charge. Delays from missing materials, third-party approvals, carrier registration, vendor outages or changes to the scope pause the clock. This promises the work and the timeline. It does not promise rankings, reviews or revenue, which depend on Google, your customers and your market.
• Sponsorship.
  The deliverables guarantee. Every deliverable we commit to in your sponsorship is completed, or the value rolls forward to the next season until it is. This guarantees what we deliver, not a business result for you.

These guarantees promise Launch League's time and delivery. They do not promise a business result, a job, an admission to a school or program, a search ranking, or a particular number of reviews or customers. A guarantee that asks you to do something (attend sessions, finish tasks, send materials, give approvals) applies once you have done it. We may update these terms as Launch League grows. We'll change the date at the top, and for changes that materially affect participants we'll ask for agreement again before they apply to you.

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there.
