Launch League Camps
Camp terms and safety
Launch League Camps are run by Launch League, Chatham-Kent, Ontario. By registering, you agree to these terms for each camper you register.
Taking part
Basketball involves running, jumping and contact with the ball and other players, and injuries can happen. Coaches teach safe play, match activities to age and experience, and stop anything unsafe. You accept the ordinary risks of taking part. Nothing here limits Launch League's responsibility for its own negligence.
Code of conduct
- Respect coaches, other campers, volunteers and the building.
- No dangerous play, fighting, bullying or language that puts anyone down.
- Follow the coach's instructions, especially stop and safety instructions.
- A camper whose behaviour puts others at risk may be sent home after we speak with a parent. Fees for the missed time are not refunded.
Drop-off and pickup
Campers are released only to a parent or guardian, the emergency contact on the form, or an adult you list for pickup. They may be asked for ID. Please pick up on time. If you're delayed, call or text so a coach can stay with your child.
Payment and refunds
Camp is paid in full when you register.
Cancellations made 14 or more days before the first day of the registered camp are refunded, less non-refundable payment processing costs.
Registrations cancelled within 14 days of camp are non-refundable except for approved medical or exceptional circumstances.
If Launch League cancels a camp or can't run it on the registered dates, you receive a full refund of what you paid, including processing costs.
To cancel, email admin@launchleague.ca with the camper's name and the email you registered with.
Your family's information
We collect only what we need to run camp safely: parent contact details, the camper's name and date of birth (for age groups), and the health, emergency and pickup details you choose to give us. Health details are seen only by camp staff who need them and are deleted 60 days after camp ends. We never ask about religion, never sell or share family details, and never give them to the host church. Payment is handled by Stripe; we never see or store card numbers.

Concussions (Rowan's Law)
Rowan's Law (Concussion Safety), 2018 applies to basketball camps for young people in Ontario, and we follow it at every Launch League camp.
Before camp, each camper and a parent confirm they have reviewed Ontario's approved resources:
Our concussion code of conduct
- Fair play, and respect for everyone in the gym.
- Speak up about concussions, including your own. If you think you might have one, say so. If you think another camper might, tell a coach.
- Support the return-to-play process, even when it's slower than anyone wants.
- Share what matters. If a camper is removed from play, the parent is told that day, and we ask parents to tell the camper's school and other programs.
- Coaches make room for it: before and after every session, there's a chance to raise a concussion concern.
- Zero tolerance for dangerous play of the kind that causes head injuries.
- Dangerous play of that kind means removal from the activity. That is not a warning system.
- Repeatedly breaking this code carries escalating consequences.
If we suspect a concussion
- A camper with a suspected concussion comes off immediately, even if the knock happened somewhere else.
- If it looks like it needs an ambulance, we call 9-1-1.
- The parent or guardian is told that day.
- We write the removal down and keep the record.
- A physician or nurse practitioner must assess the camper before they play again.
Returning to play
- Nobody returns without a medical assessment by a physician or nurse practitioner.
- Assessed and not diagnosed, with medical clearance: back to normal.
- Diagnosed with a concussion: graduated steps, each completed before the next, and no unrestricted play until a physician or nurse practitioner clears it.
Concussion records hold health information about a child, so we collect only what the protocols need, keep it where nobody else can get at it, and delete it on a set schedule.
