For Hamilton families
Starting from Hamilton
Health care is the city's biggest employer and the skilled trades run deep, so apprenticeship and hospital careers are both close to home.
Most Hamilton teenagers are at the Hamilton-Wentworth District School Board and Hamilton-Wentworth Catholic District School Board. Guidance there is free and is the right first call for course selection, co-op and OYAP. The Sprint adds what a stretched guidance office rarely can: six weeks one-to-one, people in the field, and a plan your teenager wrote.
Where a trade is on the list, we cover the real route in: OYAP, hours and sponsors.
Close to home, after high school
- McMaster University
- Mohawk College
- Redeemer University
University is one route of four. We explore college, apprenticeship and going straight to work just as seriously: how the four compare.
The Future Ready Sprint — Ontario · 6 weeks
From “I dunno” to a plan they chose, in six weeks.
Six weeks of small, real-world experiments — people interviewed, a workplace seen where that is practical, something tried — and a written record of what each one taught them. One package, priced once, with everything in it written down.
What's in it
- 1A parent conversation and a private setupTwenty minutes with you first. Then the Career Discovery Profile: you read what is collected, your teenager answers in their own words, and you answer separately.
- 2A written brief before the first sessionWhere you and your teenager agree, where you see them differently, and which career families are worth exploring — with the answers that put them there.
- 36 weekly one-to-one sessionsCareers that fit what we heard, the honest route into each, and homework that involves the real world.
- 4At least two conversations with people who do the workFound through Launch League's Ontario network, wherever your teenager lives. We teach the asking, make the introduction, and confirm each one with you before anything identifying is shared.
- 5Real-world exposure where it is practicalA workplace visit, a job shadow or another way of getting close to the work. Named as confirmed only when it is, and we tell you what is realistic for their interests before you commit.
- 6A written 30/60/90-day plan, in their wordsWhat they're testing and how they'll know. Short enough to use.
- 7A family report and a 90-day check-inA written summary for you at the end, and we check back at the 90-day mark to adjust the plan rather than file it.
- 8The free program, either wayBusiness 101, the one-page plan and the provincial competition are free for every young person in Ontario. Coaching changes nothing about that and gives no advantage in it.
Ontario rate
$1,295 + HST
Anywhere in Ontario, over video
or Three monthly payments of $450 — $1,350 in total, $55 more than paying once.
Founding price for the first 30 families. After that it's $1,695, and founding families keep what they paid.
One price for the six weeks, wherever in Ontario you are — no per-session billing and nothing added later. The introductions come from Launch League's Ontario network, so a teenager in Ottawa talks to someone in Ottawa.
Nothing is charged to ask
There is no deposit and no booking fee. Tell me what you are seeing at home and I will reply personally — and if this is not the right thing for your teenager, I will say so.
Paid once, before the work starts
You enrol and pay in full, or take the three monthly payments. The work starts the same week. Nothing is invoiced later and there is no hourly rate to watch.
The two-session guarantee
Do the first two sessions. If you don't think it's worth it, tell me and you get the whole fee back. No form, no argument.
The plan guarantee
If your teenager comes to all six sessions and does the between-session tasks, and doesn't finish with a written plan and at least two conversations with people doing the work, I keep coaching them free until they do.
Ask about the SprintAsking costs nothing and there is no deposit. Guaranteed admission or a job is not on offer, from us or from anyone honest.

Who your teenager works with
Me. Not an assistant.
I'm Nick Gonzalez. Every session, every introduction and every plan in the Sprint is mine, start to finish.
- Eight years leading operations at a Chatham-Kent business of 100+ people, turning co-op students into apprentices and journeypersons.
- A high school basketball coach for nearly 15 years. I know how to get a teenager to say more than “fine”.
- Ten years in the U.S. Air Force, as a structural airman and in financial management.
- A board director with the Chatham-Kent Chamber of Commerce and a Rotarian, which is where a lot of the introductions come from.
I started a landscaping company in high school and it placed first in a statewide business plan competition. What changed my direction wasn't a test result; it was doing something real and finding out I was good at it. That's what the Sprint is built to give your teenager. More about me
Two guarantees
The risk is mine, not yours.
What nobody honest can promise is a job or an admission. What I can promise is that your teenager does real things, talks to real people and leaves with a plan they wrote. If that doesn't happen, you don't pay for it.
What usually stops parents
The honest reasons people hesitate
If one of these is yours, here is what we already do about it.
“They have no idea what they're interested in.”
That is who this is for. The Career Discovery Profile is built to start from “I don't know”. If you'd like a feel for it first, Future Finder is free and takes a few minutes.
“They won't open up to a stranger.”
The first conversation is with you, not them. Your teenager answers the profile privately, in their own words, before we ever meet, so the first session starts from what they said rather than from small talk.
“It's a lot of money right now.”
Three monthly payments of $450 — $1,350 in total, $55 more than paying once. Same Sprint, same sessions, nothing taken out.
“What if it doesn't work for us?”
Two guarantees. Do the first two sessions; if you don't think it's worth it, you get the whole fee back. And if your teenager does the work and doesn't finish with a written plan and two conversations with people in the field, I keep coaching them free until they do.
“We're nowhere near Chatham-Kent.”
The Sprint runs over video anywhere in Ontario, and the two conversations with people who do the work are found through the Ontario network wherever your teenager lives.
“We're already stretched for time.”
One session a week for 6 weeks, homework that happens in the real world rather than on a worksheet, and a parent update you can read in two minutes.
“I don't want someone telling my kid what to be.”
Neither do we. They choose. The plan at the end is written in their words, and it is a list of things to test, not a verdict.
“They've finished school and still don't know.”
Career Launch is for roughly 12 to 25, and the ones who have left school without a direction are some of the people it helps most.
“What happens after six weeks?”
A written family report, a check-in at 90 days to adjust the plan, and an open invitation to whatever we run next.
“Can they see a few jobs up close first?”
Yes, for free: the job library describes real Ontario jobs honestly, pay and routes included.
Best case
Your teenager stops saying “I don't know” and starts doing something about it: a plan in their own words, and at least two people in the field who know their name.
Worst case
You do two sessions, decide it isn't worth it, and get the whole $1,295 back.
And if nothing changes, next year's answer is probably still “I don't know”.
Start here
Tell me about your teenager.
Two minutes. Say you're in Hamilton. Nothing is charged to ask and there is no deposit, and I reply personally.
Already sure?
Enrol now for $1,295 plus HST, the founding price. Both guarantees apply.
By card. Three monthly payments of $450 — $1,350 in total, $55 more than paying once. The monthly payments stop on their own after the third. You will be asked for your billing address so the HST is worked out correctly. Nothing about your teenager is asked for here.
Questions from Hamilton parents
Straight answers
- Is there career counselling for teens in Hamilton?
- Yes. Launch League's Future Ready Sprint is career coaching for Hamilton teenagers and high school students, delivered over video: six one-to-one sessions, at least two conversations with people working in the fields your teenager is considering, and a written plan in their own words. Strictly it is coaching, not counselling; if your teenager needs a registered counsellor or psychotherapist, we will say so.
- Do you meet in person in Hamilton?
- No. Sessions run over video, scheduled around school. What happens in person is the point of the programme: the conversations with people doing the work, and a workplace visit or shadow where it is practical. Every Sprint includes at least two conversations with people actually working in the fields your teenager is considering. Where it is practical and appropriate, we also work toward a workplace visit, a job shadow or other hands-on exposure — and we say what is confirmed rather than what we hope for.
- How does this fit with guidance at Hamilton-Wentworth District School Board?
- It sits beside it. School guidance is free and the right first call for course selection, co-op, OYAP and applications, and we will tell you when a question belongs there. Coaching adds what guidance rarely has time for: weeks of one-to-one exploration, people in the field, and a plan your teenager wrote.
- How much does it cost?
- $1,295 plus HST for the first 30 families, or three monthly payments of $450. After that it is $1,695. Two guarantees: a full refund after the first two sessions if you don't think it's worth it, and free coaching until the plan and the two conversations exist, if your teenager does the work.
