One veteran in Chatham gets their yard put to bed for winter in November, at no cost. Nominate a veteran you know, or nominate yourself.

Who it's for

Any veteran of the Canadian Armed Forces or allied forces living in Chatham, Ontario. Self-nominations are welcome.

What gets done

  • Leaf removal
  • Garden beds cleared
  • Perennials cut back
  • Lawn tidied
  • Debris removed

How it works

  1. Nominate

    Tell us about the veteran and why you're putting their name forward.

  2. We read every one

    Every nomination is read before anyone is chosen.

  3. The crew comes out

    The chosen veteran gets a full fall cleanup in November, free.

  4. Only if they want

    The story is shared publicly only with the veteran's permission.

Before you send it

  • The person you're nominating knows about it and is okay with being contacted.
  • One yard is chosen. We can't do every nomination, and we'll say so honestly.

Put someone's name forward

A nomination usually contains someone else's name, address and situation. We keep it inside Launch League and share it only with the crew doing the work. Nothing is published, and a story is only told if the person says yes.
