Minimum education
English training option: secondary school graduation diploma or equivalent including Grade 12 English, plus one listed math course (Grade 12 or CEGEP 201 Applied or Academic Math, Sec V Math in the Science or Technical and Scientific option, Mathematics 536 or 526). A French training option with a listed Sec V math course is also stated. The ideal candidate already has a diploma from a Transport Canada accredited AME-S (structures) program.
Initial training
Basic Military Qualification (basic training) at the Canadian Forces Leadership and Recruit School, Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu, Quebec. Aircraft Structures Technicians attend Canadian Forces School of Aerospace Technology and Engineering (CFSATE) in Borden, Ontario where they complete Common Core which includes common mechanical and aircraft servicing training over 8 weeks. After some time at a Squadron they will return to CFSATE...
