Minimum education
English training option: secondary school graduation diploma or equivalent including Grade 12 English, plus one listed math course (Grade 12 or CEGEP 201 Applied or Academic Math, Sec V Math in the Science or Technical and Scientific option, Mathematics 536 or 526). A French training option with Sec V Physics and a listed math course is also stated. The ideal candidate already has a diploma from a Transport Canada accredited AME-M program.
Initial training
Basic Military Qualification (basic training) at the Canadian Forces Leadership and Recruit School, Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu, Quebec. Aviation Systems Technicians attend training at the Canadian Forces School of Aerospace Technology and Engineering (CFSATE) in Borden, Ontario where they complete Common Core which includes common mechanical and aircraft servicing training over 8 weeks.
