- Basic Military Qualification (basic training) at the Canadian Forces Leadership and Recruit School, Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu, Quebec. MSMTs attend Naval Fleet School Pacific in Esquimalt, British Columbia or Naval Fleet School Atlantic in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Training takes 3 months.
